In southern Denmark at the offshore windmillfarm Nysted the Norwegian civil marine construction company, Mika AS was awarded a job, where i.e. trenching and cable laying between the windmill foundations were part of the scope of work. As brokers, we supplied our client with the newbuilding multipurpose / cable lay vessel, "Fob Jr." which went directly from the yard on T/C for 9 months firm + options. In addition the multipurpose tug "Afon Goch" was chartered in as a back up / assistance vessel. The latter vessel was replaced with "Llandwyn Island", which took over because the T/C period was extended and "Afon Goch" was already committed to another job. The large backhoe dredger "Rocky" was also hired in for approx. 1 month to assist / speed up the trenching. |
